Kastanitsa is one of the eldest villages of Kinouria based on ancient scripts and the ancient village of Tsaconohori. In 1293 B.C. the first village of Parnonas made its 1st printed appearance.

In the same year the Byzantine Emperor Andronicos declared new privileges to various episcopal chairs and between these, Kastanitsa is referred to as "Komi is called Constanta”.
